Georgia queer writer named Lambda Literary Fellow

Sarah Fonseca of Atlanta is currently finishing up her BA in Creative Writing at Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga., writing a memoir on being a queer Latina working in a Mexican restaurant and was recently the only person from Georgia to be selected to be a Lambda Literary Fellow. As part of the fellowship, Fonseca, 23, has the opportunity to attend an emerging writers’ retreat in L.A. — but she readily admits she doesn’t have the funds to make the trip.
