Artists such as Rihanna and Bruno Mars tend to gain enough spins on Atlanta radio to hit the top of the airplay chart. But occasionally, an out-of-the-box hit from an unknown artist comes along and grabs everyone by the eardrums. That’s Gotye (pronounced GOT-ee-yay), a Belgian-Australian singer songwriter who has all the makings of a one-hit wonder thanks to his indelibly catchy “Somebody That I Used to Know.” The song was spun 279 times the past week on the Atlanta FM dial, according to Mediabase 24/7.
