As promised , the 54th Annual Grammy Awards Show paid tribute to Whitney Houston with an emotional performance by Jennifer Hudson . Hudson hit the stage alone, dressed in a simple black dress and performed Houston’s ballad, “I Will Always Love You,” nearly breaking down into tears during the performance, which occurred a little over 24 hours after Houston’s death . In 2008, Houston presented Hudson with her first Grammy, so it was only natural that she would become emotional.
