Local gay playwright offers ‘Breakfast Club’ on teachers

Essential Theatre’s triumvirate of new shows this summer includes a world premiere from tireless gay playwright Topher Payne. His latest is “Evelyn in Purgatory,” which he laughingly calls “The Breakfast Club” for teachers.
