It has always been my belief that Black history should be taught 365 days a year just like “White” history, but since we’ve been dedicated the Month of February, we may as well make good use of it. A letter from a freed former slave to his onetime master has recently gone viral. The letter was written in response to an August of 1865 letter from Colonel P.H. Anderson of Big Spring, Tennessee, who wrote to his former slave Jourdan Anderson, requesting that Jourdan return to work on his farm.
