Jeff Foxworthy garners biggest hit ever for GSN with ‘American Bible Challenge’
GSN combined two worthy ideas: a game show about the world’s most popular book the Bible and the family-friendly Alpharetta stand-up Jeff Foxworthy . The result: the networks’ most popular show in its 17-year history by a huge margin. ‘Trick’ drag star Coco Peru to appear at Out on Film’s 25th anniversary
Coco Peru, drag star known for such films as “Trick” and “Girls Will Be Girls,” will attend Atlanta’s Out on Film 25th film anniversary taking place in October. Out on Film, Atlanta’s LGBT film festival, takes place Oct. 4-11. Peru will participate in a Q & A with “Trick” director Jim Fall on Oct. 10 after the screening of the cult classic. The Q & A will take place at Mixx Atlanta as part of its new live entertainment series “Backstage @ Mixx.” Peru, also famous for her one-woman shows, will then perform at Mixx on Oct. 11. >>

Quick reversal: Rock 100.5 drops music from the Regular Guys show
After a long, glorious three days, Rock 100.5’s experiment of adding music to the Regular Guys show has ended, host Larry Wachs announced today via Twitter. The Regular Guys may have been on music stations (save for a brief moment on WGST-AM), but the show itself is purely an entertainment talk show. Development Du Jour (Restart Edition): Veteran Atlanta Developer/Owner Branch Properties Buying the Jonquil Village Site in Schminings
[The currently fallow Jonquil Village site in Smyrna, photo credit Hunt Archbold via Smyrna-Vinings Patch .] The real estate crash/meltdown of 2007-(?) hath claimed many a victim, including several large commercial developments around town. Some- juiced by easy money and pipe dream thinking- were preposterous and seemed to beg for it. But other planned developments, if a bit out-sized, actually seemed both needed and conceived with somewhat reasonable expectations.
