Photo: Phil Skinner, [email protected] Yes, it’s that time again. Let’s talk about pizza. It’s been almost two-and-a-half years since we last asked about pizza in Atlanta, so we definitely need to update this one. It’s said that even when it’s bad, it’s still pretty good. But why eat bad pizza when there’s so much good stuff out there? First, we need to know where to find that amazing pizza. That’s where you come in. Whether it’s thin and crispy or thick and chewy, we want to hear about your favorite place for a slice (or a… >>

70dbJACKSON 5 CARTOON DVD BLU RAY SET 244x300 Friday Riffs: Your favorite Jackson 5 song could net you a DVD

Come on, admit it, you spent more than a few Saturday mornings back in the day watching “The Jackson 5ive” cartoon series. Maybe you caught it in its original run in the early ‘70s, or maybe you’re from the Michael Jackson-as-solo-star era and watched the show when it was rebroadcast in 1984-85 to capitalize on Michael’s popularity. Well, the entire series, including 46 remastered songs (and yes, “ABC,” “I’ll Be There” and “The Love You Save” are among them) has just been released on Blu-Ray and DVD, and thanks to our friends at Morris + King… >>

It finds them working with producer John McEntire of Tortoise. Calexico takes its name from a California border town that merges parts of the words California and… >>

The dashing fellows of Keane. Photos: Alex Lake The last time Keane played Atlanta, there were only three members in the band, they were riding the success of their debut album, “Hopes and Fears” with the songs “Somewhere Only We Know” and “Everybody’s Changing,” and frontman Tom Chaplin was on the brink of entering rehab for drug abuse. That was 2005, when the then-trio performed at Music Midtown and The Tabernacle. Now, as they ready to return to The Tabernacle on Thursday (ticket info below), Keane is a quartet, they’re still touring behind last year’s excellent but mostly-ignored… >>

NBC plans a reality show about a newspaper? Really?

Let me preface this blog with an apology. It will probably not interest you, dear reader, who is just looking for the latest Kardashian update before dashing into a meeting, in the least. A reality show about reporters? What, couldn’t they create a show about paint drying or grass growing? But journalists find other journalists fascinating, in the way babies stare with unknowing wonder at each other. So this news bulletin first reported on Jim Romenesko’s Facebook page , the virtual water cooler where journalists hang out talking about other journalists, was too great to resist: “NBC Peacock Productions … is… >>

Cohen / www.RobbsPhotos.com With zero fanfare, Ed Sheeran strolled out onstage. As he plowed into “Give Me Love,” his only accompaniments his acoustic guitar, a looping mic and pedal and a wall of speakers that doubled as projection screens, the British heartthrob was bombarded with a cascade of shrieking usually reserved for the high-cheekboned glamour of One Direction. Yes, the ginger-headed singer-songwriter with the colorful sleeve tattoo, rumpled pants and T-shirt… >>
